Westbrick Murders

The town of Westbrick is a rough place to live in. It is here that the young rookie cop Matthew lives with his wife. Meanwhile, notorious serial killers Billy and Barbara embark on a killing spree in order to get notoriety. Matthew gets his first assignment with his much older partner William when he unfortunately crosses paths with Billy and Barbara. William gets killed in the line of duty by Billy and Barbara but thats not enough for them: they torture and brutally murder Matthews wife. Things get even worse for young Matthew when he loses his job, being wrongfully blamed for Williams death and now charged with murder. Matthew finds himself isolated; there is no reason to count on a corrupt legal system and even less of a chance of being found innocent. He goes on a rampage for vengeance and slowly turns into a mad psychopath just like Billy and Barbara.

Prabu (Ajith ), a young man coming from a modest background, is looking for a job since 3 years now. He has put in to many jobs during these 3 years. Every time, Prabu had all the required qualifications for the job he applied for and he fulfilled all the conditions. Except one: In all the companies, he was demanded to pay a considerable amount as a caution deposit. And every time all his chances of getting the job were hanging on the payment of this caution. But, Prabu never had the means to pay such an amount and therefore, he didnt get none of these jobs. When he applies for an umpteenth job in a big company hes once again demanded to pay an exorbitant amount. Determined to get this job at all costs, Prabu is ready to do anything to obtain this amount as quick as possible. Even the worst things. So Prabu decides to kidnap someone so as to demand a ransom to the family of this person.The fate leads him to abduct Uma who happens to be the one and only daughter of Minister Duray Raj ( played by K.S. Ravikumar). Uma has never experienced real happiness and freedom because whatever she does, she has always been subjected to a close surveillance (her father has hired two bodyguards so that his daughter couldnt be exposed to any danger). It just so happens that, a little while later, Uma falls in love with Prabu and, before long, Prabu begins to love Uma too. In the meanwhile, Umas parents hire Vaasu ( Sathyraj), a rowdy whos ready to do anything for the sake of money, to find their daughter. The rest of the film is hanging on one simple question: Will Prabu and Uma be founded by Vaasu?

Miss You Like Crazy

This film is a nice addition to her recent body of work (including One More Chance, A Very Special Love, and You Changed My Life). Im going far as saying that the execution of Miss You Like Crazy is almost Hollywood-like. However, I feel that the film lost a lot of is edge in the process of making it a very polished film. Some film fans will feel that Miss You Like Crazy doesnt have the emotional hooks its predecessors have and that the presence of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo was clockwork. (Did John Lloyd just mail it in? Well never know). Bea, for her part, had an uneven performance as she was awkward the first parts then got to her comfort zone in the latter parts. The story focuses on timing and time as necessary aspects of love and romance. As a viewer, I got to experience that first hand as I felt the movies 2-hour running time midway through the movie. Also, there were several chronological goofs in the movie (like a PC running Windows 7 in 2005). So, is Miss You Like Crazy worth the wait? Depends on whos asking. I think its a well-made movie, but I felt it did not deliver the goods. Im convinced that the title refers to how people will long for the good old days of the John Lloyd-Bea tandem after watching this film.
